How it works: 43B(h) applies to Micro and Small enterprises registered under Udyam that are manufacturers or service providers (not traders). The payment limit is the agreed period (max 45 days) or 15 days if there is no written agreement, counted from the date of acceptance (or bill date if acceptance is not given). An unpaid amount whose limit has passed by the year end is not deductible in that year; it is allowed in the year it is actually paid. MSMED Act interest is compound interest with monthly rests at three times the RBI bank rate and is not tax-deductible. This tool is a decision aid — confirm final figures with your tax auditor.
